Today is our daughter's birthday. When she recently visited Ottawa, we drove past the apartment we had lived in when she was born.
Why don't we take a picture of you outside your first home? Terry suggested...
Later I hunted for a picture of her as a baby in that same place...
These are the only ones I could find of her outdoors - walking on the grass, hanging out with our downstairs neighbor Madame Lapine. She must have been a year old - the following summer we were already in our current home.
Was the picture on the left taken at the side of the apartment building? The window looks smaller than the ones in the front. The double window panes now look different, too. Perhaps the old ones were replaced.
I did manage to find quite a few pictures of her inside the apartment taken during her first year.
I had forgotten how shiny the hardwood floors were... and how small she was then.
It was a cheerful place - bright rooms with large windows and two stairways - one in the front and another in the back. There was even a clothes line!
A few months later, on December 31, we moved into our current home.
