Visiting Toronto's Leslieville Neighborhood

It was amazing how quickly Toronto's snow melted! Two days after I needed to buy rain boots to walk in the city, the streets were mostly dry... and it felt like spring! I decided to wander down Queen Street East to Leslieville, where Terry's favorite ice cream shop is located.

We crossed the bridge over the Don River... There is a saying written across this old bridge: This river I step in is not the river I stand in - if you click on the picture, you can see it. (Not sure what it means... Does that mean that the water flows so quickly, it is always changing?)

We passed a popular Caribbean restaurant (The Real Jerk)...

I noticed an unusual park bench - one with the arms covered in crocheted "street art"...

(Perhaps someone thought this made the park more "home-y"!

Nearby was a mail box decorated for the Vancouver Olympic Games...

True to tradition, we stopped at Ed's for ice cream - our first of the season!

  1. It's such a great neighbourhood...can't imagine living anywhere else in the city. We're excited to try out the "new" Mercury today!
