The effects of the storm that downed trees in our neighbourhood almost two months ago are still being seen.
More damaged trees are coming down.
I woke up yesterday to discover a tree cutting crew two houses down on our street.
Our neighbor Mary had an excellent view of the action.
Not that many years ago, tree trimmers would actually climb trees! I see he’s attached ropes to large branches to control where they fall. There’s a bit of science involved here!
By afternoon, the tree was down.
We lost a similar tree in our backyard during the ice storm of 1998…
(On the plus side, we can now see the large red maple down the street - visible in the top photo!)
