Toronto Birds in January Cold

A week ago, in Toronto, the weather was grey and cold. I had managed to escape Ottawa's icy streets, but not winter's chill.

Heading towards my son's apartment, I passed a flock of pigeons hunched up to stay warm in a park.

Don't they have warm nests, I wondered, pausing to take a picture.

They don't miss a thing! As I stood there taking out my camera, they thought I was stopping to feed them, so they started to fly towards me!

I managed to snap a few pictures before stepping quickly away...




 

But for a brief moment, I panicked! A bird attack! 

My mind flashed back to Alfred Hitchcock's movie, The Birds!

(I saw it as a child, but the memory - and the fear - apparently remain!)
