Neighborhood Marshland

When we first moved to our neighborhood, there was a creek where the Home Depot parking lot now sits.

As bigger buildings and parking lots are built, the natural habitat in our community is being modified.

Now, to deal with drainage issues, the nearby college has built a pond to hold run-off from rain and melting snow.

They’ve also added natural plants.

It actually looks like a marsh - though it’s man made, not natural.

Birds and ducks use it... as well as nearby puddles from melting snow.

And we locals sometimes walk on the path around it, enjoying this bit of nature near our homes.
