Purple in Bloom!

I had no master plan when I began to add to the perennial beds that already existed in our yard when we moved in.

Now - a dozen years later - I’m surprised to a pattern!

The white flowers that predominated in May - lily of the valley…

…anemones…

… and a few white tulips - have now stopped blooming.

White patches here and there have been replaced by purple ones:

Purple irises…(in different sizes)…

Persian cornflowers -  a “super spreader” plant!

A few mauve clematises near the back deck…

And pink peonies near the Persian cornflowers… both singles…

And doubles…

As I look around the yard, it almost looks “planned”!
