As the hunt for a “perfect” Ottawa apartment for our daughter continues, Terry and I are discovering some exquisite living spaces.
One I particularly loved was a building near Parkdale Market, built on the site of a former hospital. A historic facade remains.
From the rooftop garden of the new, tall building - a common area shared by all residents - there was a lovely view of the neighborhood and, over the river, the blue hills in Quebec. In autumn, they turn orange.
I’d have my morning coffee up here every day, I told my daughter.
I don’t think I’d have time for that, she replied…
(Hmmm. I’ve forgotten how hectic mornings can be when you have a job!)
