Tall Amaryllis

This tall amaryllis was bending towards the sunlight - so I turned the pot. I wondered if that would reverse its leaning.

I didn't expect it would tip the pot over, as it is rooted in soil - though the waxed ones have tipped over inside the pots.

Wondered if I should put the plant on the floor - just to be on the safe side...

Not that long ago, on January 8, it was just beginning to bud.

Then, a month later, three - then four - bright, beautiful red flowers! 

Then, a day later ... it was leaning forward even more!

I thought the stem was about to crack - so I intervened! That was a surprise!
