A few days ago, a crew of tree cutters arrived at Earl and Mary’s, across the street, to trim their large, backyard tree and remove limbs damaged by the storm.
They started on the right side…
Two men, tied into the tree, climbing branches and cutting…
Two others removed the limbs that fell to the ground. By the end of the day, they were done.
The following day, the branches look thinned out - but there’s still a canopy to provide shade.
I wonder where they train for this work - and if the people doing it always loved to climb trees. It’s risky work to do if you don’t know what you’re doing. One even has to be careful not to get too close while watching. We knew someone who got too close and was fatally struck by a falling branch. Ever since then, I’ve been wary of getting too close.
I have so much respect for these arborists with their agility and skill!
