Back then, we called them "cellars,"
This one is in a shop in Almonte. They kindly opened it up to show my granddaughter, after I noticed it.
The ones I remember held root vegetables. This one serves as storage for out-of-season shop decorations.
An history lesson for our 7-year-old - and a memory for me!
