On the edge of our front yard, right next to the road, is a small tree I didn’t remove last year - as I usually do when trees sprout up in our yard.
It was probably planted by a squirrel. They’re always digging holes and burying nuts.
My neighbour Rob tells me it’s a Manitoba Maple - not a desirable tree.
I recently asked my 2 1/2 year old grandson to stand next to it. It’s currently about six inches taller than him.
I’m curious to see how much he - and the tree - both grow, year by year.
Will he or the tree grow faster?!
(My guess is that he’ll soon be outdone by the tree.)
