It started with dizziness a moment or two after lying down in bed. The room seemed to be spinning. After a minute or so, the spinning sensation would subside...
What's going on? I wondered... Do I have a some serious medical problem?!
But when I looked up my symptoms online, it appeared that I might have an inner ear infection...or vertigo.
I'd had vertigo once before, quite a few years ago. At the time, an ear specialist examined me and concluded that crystals in my ears had moved, causing dizziness. It wasn't serious. But to get rid of the the problem, I'd have to do some exercises - to get the crystals to move back to where they were supposed to be. These exercises could be found online. Time to hunt for those exercises again!
You Tube provides quite few demos. I was particularly interested in one doctor's comment that tilting the head back would get the crystals to move - so step one was to look up at the ceiling. Then I was to move my head in such a way that the crystals would return to where they were supposed to be...
All this made me wonder if my vertigo had been caused by my daily tilting my head backwards to put in eye drops, something I'd been doing for a few months now...
From now on, I'll lie down to down to put my eye drops in - just in case tilting my head back did bring on the problem in the first place...
