We have a lot of pine trees in our yard. Terry loves them.
They were here when we moved into our house 40 years ago. The three in the backyard - between us and the nursing home where my mother once lived - were here when our neighbourhood was a farmer's field - planted to act as a wind break - or so I was told.
Over the years, they've continued to grow. I don't know how much taller they get annually, but their branches grow longer and wider every year.
Every year Terry cuts some back a bit so that they won't reach the electric wires and pull them down in a windstorm or snowstorm.
Every time there's a storm, we go to the window to see how close the branches are to the wires.
We really don't want to lose our electric power!
