Fresh plums are underused in baking. There aren't a lot of recipes that call for adding chopped plums.
When plums were in season, my mother and grandmother made cakes topped with plums that looked a little like this photo I found online.
But I love the taste of cooked plums, so I recently chopped up fresh plums and added them to muffins…
Baked like this, they look and taste like cherries - which are my absolute favourite fruit!
