First Bonfire of the Season!

Two evenings ago, Terry and I headed over to my mother's nursing home for their first bonfire of the season.

We didn't actually sit around the fire... But we could smell it and see it nearby (contained in a metal barbecue).

We sang campfire songs - led by a guitarist...

Songs like "Home on the Range," which everyone seemed to know...

My mother, as usual, had a good time.

There was lemonade to drink and sticky roasted marshmallows to bring back memories of campfires past.

It all ended too soon... After half an hour, it started to sprinkle... then rain lightly... so we headed indoors.

By the time Terry and I were ready to head home, there was a real downpour, adding another touch of reality to our outdoor campfire experience!
