He was born on Victoria Day weekend in 1934. Every time his birthday came around, my mother would remind him that his arrival spoiled her plans for a weekend hike with friends. She needed to cancel her plans in order to look after her four younger brothers while her mother was in the hospital.
Ron was the first to be born in a hospital. His older siblings were all born at home.
It was a real treat to see him. Very few of her siblings are able to come all the way from Alberta or BC for a visit.
