Me - Age 9!

My granddaughter turned nine yesterday.

I wondered what I looked like at her age, so I dug out this old class photo.

I notice that there were 40 kids in my grade 3 class in Red Deer, Alberta. Those were the years with a sudden influx of "baby boomers" into the school system.

I also notice that four of us in the class are wearing white blouses and black vests. I think our skirts were green. Not sure why we four were wearing our costumes for the "Irish Washer Woman" dance that we performed at the Red Deer celebration of Alberta's 50th Anniversary Jubilee...

Alberta had joined Canada as a province in 1905. This was 50 years later...

Was it a dress rehearsal day? I don't remember. But there we were, wearing the outfits!
