At the Beach 1950

It's hard to believe that this picture is over 70 years old - and I'm in it!

A day at the beach in Pigeon Lake, Alberta, in 1950 - the summer after my brother was born.

(Where did the time fly?!)

I don't specifically remember this picture but I do remember a day at the beach in Alberta with a my mother's siblings and parents. I wonder if this was it.

I remember crying because I burned my hand touching something hot near a bonfire. I remember my grandmother telling my mother to put butter on the burn.

Butter on a burn... Did I  remember correctly? I've never heard of butter for burns since then, though I've searched the internet. Was it an old wives' tale?

Strange, the childhood memories that stay with us!
