When you’re part of a family that lives by Benjamin Franklin’s adage, “Waste not, want not,” you never know what you’ll find!
Now that my granddaughter loves to “play school,” I gave her a pile of old notebooks to write in. Both my mother and I had the habit of keeping exercise books if they had unmarked pages in them. Some that I have date back to my children’s school days. Others - surprisingly - date back to my own childhood.
I was surprised to open this notebook and see that it must be almost 70 years old.
It had once belonged to my brother - who’s now over 70. He wrote his name in it - but he hasn’t called himself “Teddy” since elementary school!
