Last week, our granddaughter Ivy attended a day camp at the Ottawa Humane Society, close to our neighborhood. There she learned about small animals and how to care for them.
On the first day, the campers learned about rabbits as pets.
Later, when Terry and I came to pick Ivy up, we noticed a gift store.
... Also an enclosed outdoor space where dogs and potential owners can get to know each other.
Ivy received this book, which has lots of good information about responsible pet ownership.
We also saw some of the pets getting ready to be adopted.
I have a special affinity for cats.
My personal favorite was this one, whose eyes spoke volumes. It was adopted by week's end.
I also loved this beautiful bengal. He or she was determined to get attention.
Such a beautiful animal! (But apparently not a good match for a home with children...)
