Fashion shows are not normally a part of my life..
But when I was two-years-old, my mother took a sewing course at the University of Alberta - in preparation for becoming a Home Economics teacher.
From this picture, it appears that I was part of the final fashion event - that showcased the garments that had been made.
My mother presumably made the dress I was wearing. Possibly her own outfit as well?!
I have absolutely no memory of the event!
As I look at the outfits we were wearing, it seems to me that clothing hasn't changed all that much... though the curly locks ("ringlets") of my mothet (top left) and a few others reflect the "Shirley Temple" look of the time!
Later on, as a sewing instructor, my mother always organized an end-of-term fashion show for her students as well. I'm sure this event made a lasting impression on her!
