I look up and notice a pair of ducks strolling near our house, the brightly-colored male on the left, the female on the right.
They may be the same pair we noticed in early spring...
But I wonder - did they build a nest nearby? If so, where are their young?! Shouldn't one of them be guarding their nest at all times?!
The Canada geese that we see in parks (see photo above) keep their young with them for weeks after the eggs hatch.
Where are this pair's young? Why aren't they with them?! Have they already set off on their own? Are these two already empty-nesters?!
