It was almost a year ago (mid-May 2022) that tornado force winds downed a lot of trees in our neighbourhood - and we were without power for 4 days.
A few days ago, we had a lot of freezing rain... My son sent me the above picture from his neighbourhood, a few miles west of us.
In many parts of the city, the weight of the ice on trees cracked branches - and they fell to the ground! These branches from one of our trees landed next to our house in our front yard.
Our neighbours Earl snd Mary lost a lot of branches from the lovely old tree in their backyard. One even landed on their roof. Our neighbourhood again lost power, some - like us - for 2 1/2 days this time. Others for longer.
After the storm was over, it was surreal to look up and see the skies as beautiful as ever!
