More Uses for Plastic (Lettuce) Bins

Yesterday I mentioned that I use plastic bins that lettuce greens are sold in to store scraps of quilting fabric, sewing supplies and out of season shoes.

I asked if anyone else re-purposes them in other ways.














My friend Jean emailed me that she uses them "as a mini greenhouse to start seedlings. I save toilet rolls fill with dirt and place in tub. Plant seed and voila it is great for starting plants indoors."

I guess you'd cut the paper rolls in half or thirds to put the plastic lid on. Great idea!

I'll have to give that a try in a month or two, when I start to think of spring!
