Alpaca Cowl Done!

A few weeks ago I picked up a skein of alpaca and marino yarn at a local farmers market. The fibers of different colored animals were spun together to create this interesting blend.














Now I've finished knitting a multi-tone cowl out of that, using the same seed-stitch cowl pattern I've used before!

It can be worn dark side up...

... or light side up.

The vendor mentioned that alpaca wool is 10 times warmer than sheep's wool (or was it 20 times warmer?!) In either case, it should be very warm indeed!
