A few years ago I read Philip Yancy's book, I Was Just Wondering. Recently, in another book, I came across an excerpt from it and thought I'd share it here. It is certainly something worth wondering about!...
"Why is sex fun? Reproduction certainly doesn't require pleasure.... Why is eating fun? Plants and the lower animals manage to obtain their quota of nutrients without the luxury of taste buds. Why can't we? Why are there colors? Some people get along fine without the ability to detect color.... Somehow Christians have gotten a reputation as anti-pleasure, and this despite the fact that they believe pleasure was an invention of the Creator himself."
(Quoted in Benedict's Way, p. 214.)
