A Neighborhood Walk

One of the joys of this season is walking in our neighborhood...














... where many trees are changing color.


















Flowers are not the focal point at this time of year.













(Though I do appreciate the bright autumn joy sedum "blooms.")













 It's really the season for lifting heads higher...














 ... and gazing in amazement at the variety of colors...














(before all the leaves fall)!


















 Or looking down at the lovely "carpet" of red and yellow.














 I hate to see summer end!














But I do love this final flourish - trees in flames of color before their leaves drop silently to the ground.
