Anne - who introduced me to the idea of visually noting changes in nature on a phenology calendar - recently shared her August calendar with me.
This month, her phenology calendar has a lot of insects on it!
Are there more insects around in fall than in spring or summer? Or - with so many flowers finished their blooming - are they simply more noticeable as they crawl or fly around looking for food?
Or - are they beginning tt look for a place to spend the winter?! (All questions I have never really thought about before...)
