Our last pottery class saw us glazing the last pots we had made.
They come out of the liquid glaze, then have to dry, looking dusty as they go into the kiln.
The color of the glaze in the bucket bears no resemblance to the final color of the pots. Black glaze, for example, looks red in liquid form. These grey liquid glazes will turn out blue or green.
The "miracle" happens in the kiln! They come out, all shiny, colorful and... different! The only way I can tell which are mine is by checking initials engraved on the underside.
