New Framed Print

My daughter was looking at lamps in a newly-discovered charity antique store... So I busied myself by looking at framed art on the walls.

This simple print caught my eye - so I decided to buy it.

It's entitled "Caring" by Canadian artist, Daphne Odjig.

I later looked the artist up online and discovered that she was a first nations artist, born the same year as my mother... She also died the same month that my mother did. Another interesting coincidence: though she lived in various parts of Canada throughout her lifetime, she died in a nursing home in Kelowna, the city where my parents lived for many happy years before my mother moved to Ottawa in 2003.
