Walking down Sherbrooke Street in Montreal, enjoying its ambiance, we noticed something we had never seen before:
An enormous painting of Leonard Cohen that filled the whole side of an apartment building.
We paused to admire it, then continued on our way to the Museum of Fine Art, where a new exhibit had just begun, featuring paintings and movies about the wild west in North America.
Hollywood was instrumental in romanticizing this era in North American history.
Later, as we exited the exhibit, we saw Leonard Cohen's face again through the museum window.
He is definitely larger than life in his music. He grew up here in Montreal... And many of his early songs were about people he knew when he lived here in his youth.
