A few years ago, I purchased a quilting book called Sunday Morning Quilts.
I loved its "modern" approach to creating a "fabric" for the quilt top, using random scraps, rather than a careful design.
I'm not sure which quilt in the book I was trying to emulate...
As I recall, my aim was to use up brown and beige odds and ends, creating random squares. When I sewed them together, it looked pretty wild! I wasn't sure if I liked the crazy "mish-mash" design.
But recently, when my son moved out on his own, I thought he might need a large quilt, so I finished it.
It is different!! But I like it more, now that it's done!
