Outrunning a Storm...!

Terry has long wanted to take a trip to Halifax, a city we visited briefly before our children were born. He planned everything, but as the date approached, a rain warning appeared for our area. Should we cancel the trip?




We decided to try to outrun the rain - by not stopping where we normally do... (in Montreal, to have coffee with friends; in Sherbrooke, to drop in and see Terry's Aunt Glenna)...






 

Instead, we just kept going!












We drove for 8 hours, all the way to Skowhagen, Maine - through the back roads. When we were ready to stop, we discovered a charming bed and breakfast - Helen's B and B.











We loved this welcoming 180-year-old home (with a fireplace in the bathroom!)

We outran the rain on Day 1... But while we were sleeping ... the rain outran us!
