Taking Time to Paint

I haven't done water color painting in months - since my last botanical art course ended in early December. I missed it, but I needed motivation - so I emailed my neighbor Mary, suggesting she come over for an afternoon of painting.


















I prepared a plant that has leaves changing color, by blocking out some of the background leaves...


















Mary showed me some new pen and ink techniques they have been practicing in the most recent botanical art class (which I'm not taking) - adding a few strokes of ink to a water-color painting...














And I actually got some painting done!
