A few weeks ago, in our water-color class, we drew and painted shoes.
The instructor wanted us to learn about rubber masking fluid, used to cover parts of a drawing we wanted to leave white.
Most of the painters in the class used the fluid to mark luminous spots on shiny shoes.
I used mine to mask out the laces and the sole, and a few dots to show the texture of the leather. After the masking fluid dried, we painted the picture - then, when it was dry, we erased the hardened rubber gum. Another interesting watercolor technique!
