The challenge - in the end - wasn't so much drawing shapes as it was creating texture!
I didn't finish the painting in class and ended up working on it at home.
I was happy with the result - though I didn't capture the shine of the silky background, the copper vase or the aluminum cylinder. (In fact, I think the cylinder looked better in the photo above, before I worked on it too much.) And the square basket is hardly noticeable, as I accidentally modified the color!
So much to learn!
