Discovering Historic Unionville

On a recent trip to Toronto, we discovered a lovely historic town:

Unionville, 33 kilometers northeast of downtown Toronto...

... was established in 1794.

A reminder of earlier times in Ontario...

... it is still a busy place on a sunny Saturday.

We walked down the street to the park...

... where I tried (in vain) to photograph...

... a swimming turtle.

Then we stopped for lunch.

Pictures on the wall recalled earlier days when the town had a blacksmith shop...

And this 1920s photo showed a women's hockey team... in skirts, coached (of course) by men. Another time I'd like to wander farther and take pictures of the old churches I saw when we drove down the street.
