Arriving at ... Needles

I had to smile when I recently passed through Needles, California - on my virtual trek along Route 66.

For some reason, I remembered that the (fictional) brother of the cartoon character,  Snoopy was from Needles. 

But I didn't realize that Needles was a real place! I thought the town was fictional....

But apparently, it is real and Charles M. Schulz, creator of the cartoon strip "Peanuts" lived there, in the 1920's.

Reality and fiction intertwine on my virtual (fictional) walk across the continent - a walk that will soon be done! (I'm already looking for my next destination...)
