What's In Bloom?

Our recurring rain is keeping some flowers, like the tiger lilies, from blooming. But those already in bloom are undeterred - and are brightening up the yard.

Flowers like daisies...

Day lilies...

Roses...

And these tall white achilleas that I transplanted from the lawn in the backyard - where they didn't have much opportunity to grow between grass cuttings. I remember buying them quite a few years ago. I planted them in the back garden bed - where they were eventually crowded out. I thought they were gone - but was surprised to find large patches of them in the lawn!

I also enjoy this mix of blooms in the front yard:

... purple salvia ...

...next to the light purple scabiosa...

Nearby are these delicate yellow Trollius flower, perhaps the 'golden queen'variety.

(Here is a close-up.)

Next to them are the red knautia, which have a long blooming season, as I recall.

Also nearby the yellow star-shaped coreopsis are just starting to bloom...

... and a large bunch of geraniums blooming behind the hostas.

And in the backyard, the clematis is in bloom!

Lots of flowers to enjoy!
