Last weekend Terry and I drove to the Carp Fairgrounds for the first Farmers Market of the season, for Easter.
One of the rules of the market is that everything sold must be produced by the seller. There were meats of various kinds, canned goods, honey products... and lots of baked goods.
Most - but not all - was sold indoors. We ended up buying bread and pastry - and some fresh maple syrup!
The drive through the countryside was lovely: Rivers were running high - and there were lots of Canada geese.
Mounds of melting snow surrounded the parking area at the fair grounds, so space was limited - and muddy.
But everyone seemed to enjoy the early spring sunshine.
The next market day, on Mother's Day weekend, marks the beginning of the weekly summer season.
