I was telling a 75-year old friend about my mother's visit to an orthopedic clinic.
It was a busy place. A lot of older people were there, but also young ones, with casts and crutches. I overheard one young man tell a nurse he had jumped out of a plane and landed badly. (I presume he had been parachute jumping!)
My friend laughed. What a great line! she replied. The next time I hurt myself and the doctor looks at me and asks, "What did you do this time?" I'm going say "I jumped out of a plane and landed badly..."
