Recently visiting the harbors at Saint John, New Brunswick...
... and Halifax, Nova Scotia, the port cities where my parents arrived as immigrants in 1929, has given me renewed appreciation for how hard it must have been to arrive at the shores of a country where they didn't speak the language - and had no jobs awaiting them.
Thinking of all we have now, 85 years later, has made me so thankful the door was open for them to immigrate here!
It's a privilege to live in a free country!
