Sacred Quilts

When I recently attended a workshop on sacred writing at All Saints' Anglican Church in Westboro (an Ottawa neighborhood), I was drawn to the many quilted banners in the chapel...


















I've never quilted a banner - but here are a few that are inspiring me to try: a Celtic cross...


















I particularly loved this image of light in the midst of darkness...


















The square of light has a dove quilted on it...














Also this banner - triangles that form a flower in the center, where the points of the triangles meet... Could it represent the beauty and strength of synergy, being part of a team?
