A Drive to Morrisburg and the St. Lawrence River

A few days ago, Terry and I decided to take a drive to Morrisburg, a pretty town on the St. Lawrence River - about an hour south of Ottawa.

Best known for its historic attraction, Upper Canada Village, Morrisburg also has a lot of lovely old churches...

I particularly like the two-tone brick style of this one.

It must have been a popular style at one time, as there is also house nearby with the same style of brick work.

We stopped at a park on the river and enjoyed the view.

Later on, driving on highway 4 along the river, we passed several parks - where ducks were congregating.

Were they heading south?

Then at Johnstown, we crossed the bridge to the USA ... for a quick trip to the nearest shopping center buy MILK. Terry (a milk and "milk products" connoisseur - think "ice cream") can't resist the urge to buy American organic MILK - which he prefers to milk we get locally.

(What do you mean, we never go anywhere... he loves to say. Why, I took you to the USA just the other day!)
