My First "Scrap" Afghan

Creating afghans can be an interesting way to use up scraps of yarn. Here is the first one I ever knit... 31 years ago... when I was expecting my first child.

(I imagined her lying on it, fascinated by its colorful squares!)

I knit it in strips which I later sewed together. It's a little small for adult use. Occasionally I wonder if I should add a crocheted border to make it larger... But so far I've just let it be, which is why it hasn't worn out, like the other scrap afghans I've made since.
