De-cluttering Update... Vertical Storage?

The young Japanese de-cluttering guru I referred to a few days ago states that vertical storage is better than horizontal.

She suggests that storing quilting fabric upright, wrapped around cardboard - like it is displayed in fabric stores - is better than piling it in clear plastic storage bins... which is the way I store mine...

But wouldn't the fabric get dusty?!

I'll have to think about this for a bit!
