St. Andrews on the Sea, New Brunswick

Under cloudy skies, we continued our drive from Ottawa to Halifax through the woods of Maine.

After 6 hours, we arrived at our destination for the night - St. Andrews, New Brunswick, a picturesque town on Passamaquoddy Bay, near the mouth of the Bay of Fundy. We couldn't get enough of the beautiful beach scenes!
Terry had managed to find a good rate at the Algonquin Resort, a newly restored hotel that had opened the previous week.
It is located a few blocks from the main street, on a hill overlooking the town and the water.
We loved the room - a blend of old and new. We wished we could stay longer.

That evening, we wandered around town and found a restaurant facing the ocean.

Later we walked along the wharf.

We were constantly trying to figure out: Was the tide going out or coming in?!

We could go whale watching if we had more time, Terry commented. But a hotel reservation for the next night awaited us in Halifax!

Maybe next time!
