Our basement storage room has shelves full of an odd assortment of items - among them boxes.
This old lamp box has been sitting on a shelf for years. I assumed there was a lamp inside. I didn’t open it as it was taped shut. Perhaps one of my kids had taken the lamp to university, then sent it back with us when they no longer needed it.
So when my old desk lamp broke recently, I was glad to see this lamp box on a shelf. Maybe the lamp inside it would work for me.
But when I opened the box, I was surprised to find - not a lamp - but a few of my mother’s MUGS - including a hand painted Armenian mug!
Moral of the story: Don’t trust the picture on the box!
