Gastronomical Day Trip to Perth and Merrickville

One day recently, Terry suggested we go to Perth for lunch.

The last time we were there, we couldn't find a place in the restaurant patio. But now that fall is here, it wasn't quite as busy.

After a delicious lunch, we wandered over to the nearby city park to enjoy the beauty of the day...

It was a popular place...

We even saw some children wading in a park pond with a waterfall.

I noticed an adult watching over them - so I was less concerned.

Terry told me to look out for a statue of a famous race horse from Perth...

While we were admiring it, I noticed a chocolate factory across the street.

So we wandered in and had hot chocolate.

It's located in a renovated old building that was once a factory.

Now it houses offices, a doughnut store - and of course the Chocolate Works.

So nice to discover new things to see and do in Perth.

Then we headed home... via Merrickville, another old town that reminds me of Europe...

Terry had his heart set on a homemade ice cream treat...

We wandered over to the canal...

So many beautiful historic places to visit...

All about an hour's drive from Ottawa!
