Springtime Walking Near the Rideau Falls

On Easter weekend, Terry and I went for a walk near the Rideau Falls. We were curious to see if all the ice had disappeared from the river since our last visit.

It had!

No chunks of ice shooting over the falls this time - though the water was full of foamy bubbles.

After walking near the river for a bit, we headed into the neighborhood. In some ways it felt like being home...

We lived in an apartment a few blocks from here the first few years we lived in Ottawa, around the time our daughter was born.

Then we drove down the road to the Rockliffe Park lookout where we could see the sidewalk we often walk on across in the Quebec side of the river.

The Ottawa side has steep cliffs. The Quebec side, a flood plain, is very flat. But both sides are beautiful! I just love these river views!
